| 自己紹介 | I am a native English-speaker from Canada with a minor in English studies from the University of Toronto who is looking to start a career in Japan through teaching English. I have a deep appreciation for Japanese culture that dates back as far as my childhood. My first encounter with Japanese culture was through video games. My older brother played many Japanese video games. This eventually led to an interest in anime as well. Later on in my childhood, my family went on a trip to Japan. It was then that I fell in love with Japanese food and the city of Tokyo. I am currently based in Hokkaido and have been living and working in Japan since October 2023. Having spent most of this time in Niseko, I have been in a very rural/countryside part of Japan that has strangely been filled with foreigners year-round. I am seeking a more authentic experience of Japan and am working to improve my Japanese language skills. I have many hobbies including music (listening, DJing, guitar-playing), basketball, skateboarding, snowboarding, and fashion/style. |
